Tom Gossin, former lead singer of Gloriana, and I collaborated on this song earlier this week and it has come out even better than we could have ever imagined. Tom wrote this song with two other grammy award winning songwriters a few years ago and even made a demo, but put the song away because they didn't need it at the time. Upon recovering the song from the archives, Tom asked me to accompany him on this track as the female vocal, and I couldn't say no.
This day also happens to be the 8th year anniversary of my father Jani Lane’s death, who was also a very talented musician as the lead singer of the band Warrant. Instead of mourning the loss or feeling sorry for myself, what better way to celebrate his life and do something spectacular in his honor. My cover of my dad's song "Heaven" is also on this page if you haven't had a chance to listen to it already.
This project was so fun to work on, and I want to thank Tom for giving me this wonderful opportunity to create something so amazing to share with you all.
You are not required to pay to listen to our song, however, any donations are appreciated to fund future projects.
We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
lyrics
Verse 1:
Told myself, after ten, wasn't gonna check my phone,
But I've been sippin' wine, killin' time, sittin' at the house alone,
And I wonder what you're doin',
Wonder who you're with,
And I wonder just how late you're gonna hit me up again,
'Cause it's midnight, and I can't get you off my mind
Chorus:
You're the last call I should ever make,
But my will gets weaker every drink that I take,
Baby last time, we said we were over,
I know I still love you just can't say it when we're sober,
Some things will never change, grab my phone, find your name,
How long can we go on this way, playing all these drinking games?
Verse 2:
I'm at the bar with the boys giving you your time and space,
But I've been sippin' on Jameson, wishin' I was at your place (yeah),
And I wonder what you're doin',
Wonder who you're with,
And I wonder if I should've sent the text that I just sent,
'Cause it's midnight, and I can't get you off my mind
Chorus:
You're the last call I should ever make,
But my will gets weaker every drink that I take,
Baby last time, we said we were over,
I know I still love you just can't say it when we're sober,
Some things will never change, grab my phone, find your name,
How long can we go on this way, playing all these drinking games?
How long can we go on this way, playing all these drinking games?
How long can we go on this way, playing all these drinking games?
